New landmark of the city of Vienna
The DonauCity Tower was built directly on the banks of the Donau in 2014. In addition to office space, the tower also houses a Melia hotel. At the head of the building is a sky terrace with bar and restaurant.
DC Tower 1 is one of the two skyscrapers designed by Dominique Perrault. With 220 m it is the highest building in Austria. The contract for the façade was awarded to Strabag AG and Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH was entrusted with the static-construcitve processing work. It looks simple, but with about 700 different elements it was quite tricky.
