S36 open to traffic

In total, with the already completed 1.7 kilometer long construction lot in St. Georgen, more than seven kilometers of new expressway are available, which above all mean a significant increase in traffic safety and a noticeable improvement in the quality of life for the residents. The project costs for the entire new section amount to around € 165 million.   Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH was responsible for the local construction supervision for this Styrian infrastructure key project. With a highly professional project management, in addition to the core – the Unzmarkt underground route – 22 support measures, 5 bridges, 3 culverts, 10 water protection systems and numerous hydraulic engineering measures including a 500-meter-long Mur relocation were implemented on schedule and according to plan. The residents of Unzmarkt-Frauenburg in particular benefit from the new underground route – traffic through the town and the division of the town in two by the old route are a thing of the past.
