Office Excursion Murtal

A tour of two of our company’s projects was scheduled – the current construction sites at the S36 near Unzmarkt and Schloss Admontbichl near Obdach. After a knowledgeable and witty introduction by our ÖBA-Team from the construction office of ASFINAG, Martin Lichtenegger and Robert Siebenhofer lead us through the construction area of the below ground traffic route at Unzmarkt. We could observe the ongoing work in the slope stabilisation, the laying of reinforced steel for the ceiling of the below ground traffic route and the piling work. We could also observe the already half-completed overpass on the southern motorway. After a hearty snack in the construction office as well as some delicacies from the everyday construction life, the tour continued to Schloss Admontbichl.  Here, a well-known drink manufacturer renovated the old castle and established a stud farm for “Trakener”, an old race of horses from Eastern Prussia. During the tour through the stud farm, we were impressed by the wood construction which mainly used traditional carpentry techniques. The perfectly organised excursion was crowned off with an evening dinner in the noble hotel Schlosshotel Gabelhofen, which also belongs to the imperium of the previously mentioned drinks manufacturer.
