Largest project in the company’s history! Graz Center of Physics
The Federal Real Estate Company is planning the new construction of the Graz Center of Physics on the site of the former pre-clinic. The ÖBA for this comes from the house of Thomas Lorenz.
On a floor area of approx. 17,500m2 in the middle of the Geidorf district, the physics institutes of the Graz University of Technology and the Karl Franzens University of Graz will be united at a common location. This will create space for up to 2,300 people, including students and university staff, in an area of around 50,000m2. On a total of 9 floors, in addition to laboratory and office space, an auditorium extending over several floors and an impressive foyer, there is also a city terrace on the 3rd floor. A café with a view towards the Schlossberg will be set up on it, accessible from the outside via generous outdoor stairs. With a total investment of more than 350 million euros, the GCP is one of the largest university construction projects in Austria. Commissioning is planned for the end of 2030.
For this unique large-scale project, Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH was commissioned by BIG with the services of the local construction supervision incl. the supervision of the construction site. Technical construction supervision for TGA, the test statics and the construction site coordination acc. BauKG commissioned.
We are pleased about the largest order in the company’s history so far!
