Bored pile work for radiology in Graz in full swing
On the grounds of the LKH University Hospital in Graz, the new building of the Univ. Radiology Clinic. After the preparatory measures, which were started in October 2022, the bored pile work for the up to 10 m deep excavation pit and the deep foundation is now in full swing.
About half of the new 5- to 7-story building complex is underground. This, together with the surrounding existing buildings, made it necessary to enclose the excavation pit, which is being realized in the form of a dissolved bored pile wall with anchors and steel stiffeners.
Civil engineering work is progressing rapidly. In addition to the construction pit enclosure, the first deep foundation piles have already been installed, and the first floor slab sections are to follow from the end of July. Overall completion is scheduled for mid-2026.
ARGE Moser Architects – Thomas Lorenz was commissioned with the general planning services for this project, while Thomas Lorenz’s team is responsible for the structural design.
