Anatomy of Med Uni Graz successfully handed over!
Another milestone of Med Uni Graz in connection with the Med Campus was reached. The former pathology department at Auenbruggerplatz 25 was renovated and expanded for the Department of Macroscopic and Clinical Anatomy. Now it has been handed over.
The existing building, which dates back to 1912 and is a listed building, was renovated, extended to include a lecture hall for 500 students in the inner courtyard and a 5-story annex. There is room for about 70 tables in 2 dissecting rooms. In addition, a new two-story entrance area with a spacious foyer was created.
The new building houses an additional lecture hall as well as a library, medical laboratories and a pathology incl. corresponding bearing and cooling surfaces.
On September 30, 2022, the addition and conversion of the new anatomy was successfully handed over to the client – the Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft – and the user – the Medical University. Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH was responsible for the ÖBA-Bau incl. the coordination of all specialist ÖBA’s and responsible for the test statics. Once again, a precision landing was achieved with all participants! BIG invested a total of around EUR 32 million in the 8,200 m² construction project.
Congratulations to our ÖBA team for their tireless efforts on this unique project!
