Universitätsklinikum Kiel – UKSH International
The University Medical Clinics Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKSH) with its locations in Kiel and Lübeck is one of the largest medical centres in Europe. At the end of September 2014, the consortium BAM - VAMED won the contract for the renovation of both medical clinics. BAM – PPP Deutschland GmbH is a leading German construction company and a daughter company of the Netherlandish Royal BAM Group. The VAMED Group have specialised themselves in the construction, renovation and operation of the infrastructure of hospitals.
The costs for the planning, new construction and renovation of the real estate at the sites in Kiel and Lübeck total around 520 million Euro. The entire project has a contractual length of 30 years and includes, aside from the construction, also the operations and the running maintenance.
Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH was given the responsibility for the static engineering for the Kiel Medical Clinic by the BAM-VAMED consortium. Over the next few years, an area of around 80,000m² will be reworked. Construction was commenced in April 2015, the project is planned to be completed in 2021.
