In the center of Moscow next to the riverbank of Moskwa, a new seven-storey building with a gross floor area of 6,000 m2, which contains offices and apartments, was built up according to the plans of Architect Klaus Müller from Cologne. The listed building’s façade was preserved whenever possible. A deep foundation was required due to the poor ground conditions in and around the riverbank area.
Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH was responsible for the structural engineering and the drawing up of the bill of quantities for the building contractor’s work. The structural system chosen for this project is a reinforced concrete frame construction. The flat plate floors have a thickness of 30 centimetres and a span width of 8.5 m x 7.00 m. The execution of construction work was commenced in autumn of 2007. The project was completed in 2008.
