Asfinag starts large construction project at the door to Vienna – Thomas Lorenz is in the midst of it
(1/8/2015) Who doesn’t know them? – the bumps in the A23 South East corridor (Südosttangente) near Inzersdorf south of Vienna? Soon these well-known ‘ups and downs’ of the most travelled road in Austria will be a thing of the past. Asfinag will be investing approximately 290 Million Euro in four construction sites – the Prater junction, the Inzersdorf junction, the elevated motorway at Inzersdorf, and the Prater Bridge. Starting in early 2015, the bridge structure that is over 40 years old will be totally removed and completely replaced by 2018. And this, of course, while the flow of traffic is still maintained.
The construction for the 129 Million Euro project of the elevated motorway near Inzersdorf will be completed by the consortium ‘ARGE A23 HSI’, which consists of Strabag, Poor and Habau. The implementation planning for all eleven bridge structures as well as various associated objects of the two km long offshoots from the Südosttangente, will be performed by a consortium of Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH and IBBS ZT GmbH. ‘An exciting challenge after an economically difficult year’, said Thomas Lorenz, Managing Director of Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH.
