Construction start of section S10 – Bypass Freistadt South (Freistadt Süd)

(11/18/2011) With a length of 22km and an investment volume of € 718M., ‘Bypass Freistadt South’ is currently the biggest project of ASFINAG in Austria. On Friday, November 18th, 2011, the ASFINAG executive manager DI Alois Schedl and the Deputy Governer Franz Hiesl opened the 4-km long construction section South S10 ‘Muehlviertler Schnellstraße’ (Mühlviertler Expressway). The North section is scheduled to begin construction in spring 2012. The complete construction consisting of the North and South sections, comprises of tunnels, below-ground traffic routes and tribune constructions with a length of 2km, as well as 13 bridges. The total section length will be designed with a consistent architectural style (bridges, noise protection, tunnel portals). The entire project S10 is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015.

Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH has been commissioned with detailed planning of the below-ground traffic route ‘Walchshof’ (800m) and the tribune construction ‘Brandstaetter’ (142m) as part of the construction section 4.1 (South).
