Thomas Lorenz wins major structural support planning contract for Kiel project

(12/2/2014) At the end of September 2014, the consortium BAM - VAMED won the contract for the renovation of the University Medical Clinics in Kiel and Lübeck, both located in Schleswig-Holstein. BAM – PPP Deutschland GmbH is a leading German construction company and a daughter company of the Netherlandish Royal BAM Group. The VAMED Group have specialised themselves in the construction, renovation and operation of the infrastructure of hospitals.

The project will be carried out as a public-private partnership. The costs for the planning, new construction and renovation of the real estate at the sites in Kiel and Lübeck total around 520 million Euro. The entire project has a contractual length of 30 years and includes, aside from the construction, also the operations and the running maintenance.

The BAM-VAMED consortium have given Thomas Lorenz ZT GmbH the responsibility for the static engineering for the Kiel Medical Clinic. Over the next two years, an area of around 80.000m² will be reworked. With construction due to start in April 2015, the project is planned to be completed in 2021.
